RECENT ACTIVITIES

In July of 2002, 12 young ladies founded the Platinum Misses, which later became the Omega Princesses.  This organization was established to reach out to young African American females between the ages of 14 to 18.  The organization promotes academic achievement, high moral values, self-esteem, and sisterhood.

Several years later and after reorganization, they are now known as the Diamond Princesses. Their sponsors are Bell Varner-White and Delilah Mitchell, of Natchez, MS.  They are an organization built upon the same original principles and commit to community service projects in the Natchez area. They also promote drug free awareness. They have developed numerous community partnerships which have allowed them to participate in many activities locally and across the state. The Diamond Princesses do not seek fame, fortune, or recognition, but are committed to hard work, dedication, and service to the community!

The LLS has partnered with this group in providing opportunities for them to do community services, which included working with the local Farmers Market and with the co-founder in group sessions to give them continued encouragement and to instill in them that they can be anything they want to be in life with hard work and dedication.  This group will continue to be mentored by the LLS.
